James Earl Barker, 77, of Grange Corner, Indiana died at 1:58 p.m. Sunday at Culver Union Hospital. Mr. Barker was a retired carpenter. He was a member of Friends Union Church at Grange Corner, Wallace Masonic Lodge 495 and the Carpenters Union. He was a 1937 graduate of Marshall HS. He was born on Sept 6, 1919 at Grange Corner to Henry Mason (sic) and Mary Etta Hayden Barker. He married Dorothy Schlimmer on July 25, 1947 at Greencastle. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Mark Ramsay (Susie) of Milligan, Indiana ; one sister, Fauneal Wood of Rockville; one brother, Henry m. of South Bend; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Holland. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Rice Funeral Home of Marshall with the Revs. Lester Niles and Wendell Adams of officiating. Burial will be in the Wolf Creek Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Masonic services will take place at 8 p.m. - kbz
