Jesse Barker, son of James & Rebecca Barker, was born in Parke County, near Marshall, April 25, 1864 and departed this life on July 18, 1930 at the age of 66 years 2 months and 23 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Viola Emeline Catterson in the year of our lord, Dec 5, 1888. To this union was born 10 children, 7 sons and 3 daughters of whom 5 sons preceded him in death. Jesse Robert; William Leonard; Arthur Alonzo, Wilbur Earl and Walter Edward Barker. Two sons living, Nelson Lee of Rossville, Ill and Courtney Cecil at home. 3 daughters, Mrs. Maggie Mitchell of Rossville, Ill; Mrs. Cleta Pedigo of Hillsboro, Indiana and Mrs. Gertrude Taylor of Clinton, Indiana ; 18 grandchildren ; 17 living, one dead. He was the 4th out of five, all of whom have preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his loss, the widow, 5 children and 17 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at Grange Corner, Ind, by Rev. TJ Beam. Burial at Wolfe Creek Cemetery, in charge of Davis Funeral Directors of Rossville, Ill - typed by kbz
