Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Barnes Mortuary Rockville for William Albert Banta, 89, who died 11 a.m. Friday, Jan 13, 1961 at the home of his son, Charles in Marion. He was born April 2, 1871 in Parke County, son of Beveraly and Frances Barnes Banta. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Minnie Holbert of Rockville; two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Porter, Rockville and Mrs. Luella Smiley, Waveland and two brothers, Oscar of Muncie and Frank, Marion. Rev. EE Essex officiated with burial in Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville. - kbz
