Newtown -- Mrs. Louella M. Bacon, 91, of Newtown died Monday night at Ben Hur Nursing Home at Crawfordsville. She was a member of the Newtown United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women's Club and was educated in Martin's School near Newtown. Born Dec. 21, 1884, she was a daughter of Ephriam and Lizzie Martin of Newtown. She was married to Charles F. Bacon in 1905 at Newtown. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1965. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Lockmiller of Aurburndale, Fla.; a son, Robert of Newtown; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Three brothers are deceased. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Meharry Cemetery at Wingate with the Rev. Donald Watson officiating. The family requests that contributions be made to charity. There will be no visitation hours.


MAY 27, 1976 -- Mrs. Louella M. Bacon, 91, of Newtown, died at 10:30 p. m. Monday (May 24, 1976) at Ben Hur Nursing Home in Crawfordsville. She had been a patient two years. A life resident of Richland Township, she was born two miles east of Newtown, Dec. 21, 1884, the daughter of Thomas E. and Elizabeth Fisher Martin. On Oct. 4, 1905, she was married to Charles Franklin Bacon who died March 17, 1965. She was a member of the Newtown United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Lockmiller of Auburdale, Fla., a son, Robert of Newtown; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services at the Meharry Cemetery three miles east of Newtown. The Crumley-Williams Funeral Home of Hillsboro was in charge of arrangements. The family has requested that any memorials be in the form of contributions to a favorite charity or church.
