Francis J. Ball, 71 of New Ross was dead on arrival at4:15 p.m. Friday at Culver Hospital of an apparent heart attack. Mr. Ball was a retired printer for Indiantown Printing in Florida. He was past commander of the New Ross American Legion and a veteran of the Navy. During WWII he served in the Pacific. He was a member of the New Ross Christian Church and Waynetown Masonic Lodge. He was graduated from Waynetown HS. Born Aug 15, 1904, near Yountsville, he was a son of William T. and Sarah Hopping Ball. In 1924 he was married to Nellie Fruits who died in 1940. He then married Lula May Walden of Crawfordsville in 1941. Surviving are the widow; a stepson, LK Walden of Rt 4, Crawfordsville; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert (Sylvia) Dossett of Rt 1, Crawfordsville; a brother, Clarence of Los Alamitos, Calif; and 8 stepgrandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown. Friends may call after 6 pm. Sunday. Masonic services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday and the New Ross American Legion will have military graveside rites in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery   --- kbz
