Bement, Jan 18 – Funeral services for Dennis Ball were conducted in the home Saturday by Rev JF Mills of Decatur assisted by … Music was furnished by Miss Edna Moore, Miss Kathryn Fisher, Miss Rebecca Clark, Piatt Holderman and Russell Camp.  Bearers were EA Body, Harry Barnett, William Hughes, Charles Adkins, Fred Daires and DH Muthersbaugh all members of the Masonic Lodge.  Dennis Ball was born in Montgomery County, Ind, Nov 9 1839 and died Jan 14.  When not quite four his mother died and when 12 years old his father died.  At the age of 22 he went to California where he spent four years. In the year 1866 he returned to Montgomery County and in February of the same year was married to Miss Anna Lowe.  Soon after their marriage they came to Bement.  When 12 years of age, Mr. Ball united with the Bethel Baptist Church in Montgomery County. He joined the Masonic Lodge in Atwood in 1871.  He leaves six children, Nathan M and Dennis Ashley of California; Mrs. Ella Olive Conkey of Decatur, Mrs. Nettie Jane Ward and Charles Hobart of Bement and Mrs. Edith Mae Cohen of Decatur. - kbz
