Mrs. Susan (Kirkpatrick) Barcus, 71, widow of Dr. Paul J. Barcus, MD died Thursday morning at 10 o’clock at the State Soldiers’ home after an illness of two weeks. Born at Sugar Grove, Montgomery County Oct 8, 1865 she was a daughter of Jacob and Amanda Kirkpatrick. Her marriage to Dr. Barcus took place Oct 26, 1886. She was a member of the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church. Part of her married life was spent in Odell. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Barcus Smith and two grandsons, Paul Waldron Barcus and Robert Kirkpatrick Barcus of Santa Monica, Cal also a sister, Miss Laura Kirkpatrick of Lafayette and a brother, Edwin Kirkpatrick of Muncie. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock from the Profitt & Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville. – kbz
