Maj. Gen. Frank L. Barnes, 52, of Dayton, Ohio, died Saturday in Wright-Patterson AFB Medical Center following a long illness. Barnes was deputy chief of staff for engineering and services of the Air Force Logistics Command. Gen. Barnes was the husband of the former Patricia Francis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wingert of 4 Del Mar Drive, Crawfordsville. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Hank; two daughters, Beth and Susan; his mother, Mrs. I.A. Barnes of Aberdeen, N.C.; and a brother-in-law, Phil Francis of Rt. 7, Crawfordsville. Services will be at 3 p.m. in Wright-Patterson Base Chapel 1. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C. at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The family has asked that all contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.--waw
