Source: Crawfordsville Journal, Monday, July 29, 1935

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Barnhart, 63, were conducted at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the Memorial presbyterian church in charge of Rev. C.W. Ward, with interment in the Masonic cemetery. Mrs. Barnhart died at 9 o'clock Saturday night at Culver hospital following a day's illness. Her death was caused by hernia. Mrs. Barnhart was born in Crawfordsville, April 6, 1872, the daughter of William C. and Kizziah McMurray Zachary. She was married first in 1884 to Jacob Broach and second to Frank Barnhart on September 19, 1922. The deceased had resided at 904 Tuttle Avenue for several years. Mrs. Barnhart was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving in addition to the husband, are a son, William C. Broach, of North Salem, Ind.: a sister, Mrs. Grant Warren, of Crawfordsville; four brothers, John Zachery, Ephriam Zachery and Lee Zachery, all of Crawfordsville, and Otto Zachery, of North Salem; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One daughter, Hazel Kathlyn, preceded her in death.

*Note from Kim H -- parents name is spelled Zachary, brothers are spelled Zachery. Typo?
*Note from Karen Z -- I've researched the Zachary line in Montgomery County for close to 20 years and in most cases the name is spelled Zachary. Especially early ones sometimes spelled it Zachery or even Zackery or Zachary. The Tennessee Zachary family was usually Zachery, but the name has many spellings. According to the Crawfordsville District Public Library's database of cemeteries, there is no one buried in our county Zachery.
