Brian L. Barr of Lake Holiday died Tuesday evening (Aug 24, 2010) at his residence. He was 68.  He worked at RR Donnelley for 39 years, retiring in May 2002.  Upon retirement he worked at the Indianapolis Speedway as a security officer from 2002 through 2007.

He served in the Navy from September 1959 to 1965.  His memberships included the Moose, Legion, Jaycees and the Eagles. He served as a Waynetown volunteer firefighter for more than 12 years and as an EMT for three years. He was also active in Waynetown Little League as a coach for many years. He graduated from Crawfordsville HS in 1958. He was born Nov 27, 1941 in Rockville to Robert and Edith (Fisher) Barr. He married Judy Wilson Oct 17, 1998.  She survives. His previous marriage was to Diane (Fields) Patterson for 10 years. Surviving are their children, a daughter, Melissa Owens and a son, Rob (Lori) Barr of Waynetown. He also was previously married to Carol (Phelps) Barr for 24 years. Surviving are their children: two sons  Jeff Mitchell of Crawfordsville and Jason (Christy) Mitchell of Hillsboro and a daughter, Julie (Mike) Woodward of Clay City. Additional survivors include three stepchildren from his wife Judy Earnie (Stacy) Jones of Indianapolis and Phil Jones and Shana Trinkle, both of Crawfordsville; 15 grandchildren; two great grandchildren and Lillian Phelps, his mother-in-law from his marriage to Carol.  He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sister, Bonnie Johnsin; wife, Carol and father-in-law, Nathan Phelps.  
Cremation was chosen. A memorial service is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St. Friends may call from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Friday.  Military rites will be conducted by the VFW and American Legion Posts of Crawfordsville.
