William Vinson BARR son of John Wesley and Mary E. PHILLIPS Barr was born Nov 24, 1866 at Waveland, Indiana and departed this life on May 1, 1943 at the age of 76 years 5 months and 7 days. When a young man he united with the Waveland ME Church and held to that faith up until the time of his death. At about the age of 20, after his father had passed away, he with the help of his mother, assumed the responsibilities of the home until her death several years ago. He spent his entire life in this community and for a number of years was connected with the John R. Canine grocery store. His failing health in later years had prevented him from engaging in any active work. Besides the parents, a sister, Mollie and a brother, James preceded him in death. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Frank Brown and a brother, Charles D. Barr of Waveland; a sister, Mrs. Charles Hickman of Ruskin, Florida and two nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the Machledt Funeral Home. Burial in Maple Ridge Cemetery. Rev. McBrayer was in charge of the services. - kbz
