Margaret Geneva BARTON

Margaret Geneva, daughter of Harve and Clara Barton was born Aug 7, 1907, died Feb 12, 1910, aged 2 years 6 months 5 days. Her young and tender heart was filled to overflowing with kindness, obedience, and love. The light of her smiles and the sweetness of her life won a permanent abode in the hearts of all with whom she came in contact. She seemed to be cast in a superior mould, manifesting such traits of character as goodness of heart, purity of life, a wisdom and understanding which has often called forth the expression, from many who are approaching the footlights of the western slope of life, that she was too good, too intelligent, possessing that expression of something that makes her not a child of this world but an angel of God and that to him she would early wheel her flight. She has gone home, an angel of earth for a few days; now an angel in Heaven forever. She has exchanged the cares and caresses of the cradle for the endless glories of an endless day. One more flower of earth transplanted into the greenhouse of eternity. Father, mother, brother, sister and friends, a light has gone out of your home to shine on another shore. Empty shoes and stockings and idle playthings lie silent on the floor but look up oh sad hearts weeping in y our sorrow and your pain for in the kingdom of the blessed you shall meet your own again. For there on the highest sills of Heaven sits your little angel Margaret guasrding o'er you, waiting and watching for your return when life is done. she is not dead - she lives forever. Peaceful and happy be her soul... Daniel Murphy - kbz
