After an illness of about 10 days Jefferson Bastian passed over to the great beyond last Saturday morning at 2:35 o’clock. During a series of meetings at the Christian Church in New Richmond last fall he united with the church since which time he had been trying to live a consistent Christian life. He said he was not afraid to die. A short time before he died, he called his family around him and kissed each one and bid them good-bye. To his wife he said, “It won’t be long until you will join me and then we will part no more forever. Home, sweet home.” He leaves a wife, two sons and two daughters, besides numerous other relatives to mourn his loss. He was 45 years olda bout a week before he died. A very large concourse of people followed the remains to their last resting place in the New Richmond cemetery last Sunday. - kbz
