New Richmond, May 27 -- Garrett L. BASTION well known New Richmond resident passed away on Friday night about midnight following a brief illness.. Mr. Bastion appeared to be improving when he suffered a heart attack which caused his death. He was born in New Richmond July 11, 1857 the son of James and Nancy Bastion. On Oct 19, 1893, he was united in marriage to Lillie Clement. No children were born to this union but a nephew, Ralph Bastion who was drowned in a gravel pit several years ago was reared at their home. The deceased was a member of the New Richmond Methodist Church and had been engaged in various kinds of business during his residence here. At the time of his death he was operated a billiard parlor. Those surviving are the wife and two sisters, Mrs. Martha Stumbaugh and Miss Rose Bastion of New Richmond. The funeral arrangements will be announced later. - kbz
