New Market -- Elmer O. Bayless, 65, a life long farmer of this community died Saturday night at 10:40 o'clock at Culver hospital in Crawfordsville. He had been ill two weeks and death was attributed to complication. Born August 24, 1886 in Montgomery County, he was the son of George and Cora Miles Bayless. In 1906 he married Pearl Demoret. He was a member of the Freedom Baptist church. Surviving are the widow; four sons, Lester of Browns Valley, Irvin of New Market, Claude of Yuma, AZ and Glen of Indianapolis; a brother, Ernest of Denver, Colo; two sisters, Mrs. James Kitts of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Fred Priebe of near Parkers burg and 8 grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Edna Hockersmith, preceded him in death in 1944. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Noble Reeves funeral home in New Market; Rev. John Servies will be in charge and burial will be in Freedom Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. - kbz
