Browns Valley - Mrs. Gertrude Bayless, 84 of Browns Valley died Friday in Carmen Nursing Home at Crawfordsville after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Bayless was a member of the Browns Valley Baptist Church. She was born July 11, 1886 at Browns Valley, a daughter of Thomas F. and Lucy Ann Davis Patton. She married John W. Bayless in March (12) of 1908. Surviving are a brother, George Patton of Lafayette and a sister, Mrs. Thomas (Dee) Rice of Crawfordsville. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 18, 1965; a daughter, 5 brothers and two sisters. Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Reeves Funeral Homea t New Market with Rev. William R. Mallot officiating. Interment will be in Freedom Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today. - kbz
