THORNTOWN — Lewis James Beck, 70, 634 W. Main St., Thorntown, died at 7 p.m. Monday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. Mr. Beck was employed as shipping clerk at Puritian Mattress Co., Indianapolis. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and was educated in the Thorntown schools. He was born Nov. 23, 1901, at Thorntown, a son of Ollie and Ida Ann Darrough Beck. He was married to Mildred Calvert May 8, 1912, (sic- assume 1922) at Indianapolis. She preceded him in death in 1968. Surviving is a brother, L.D. Beck, of Rt. 1, New Ross; a sister, Mrs. Flossie Mabel Westfall of Bradford, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters. Services will be conducted at Powers Funeral Home at Crawfordsville at 10:30 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Victor Link officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Washington Park Cemetery East at Indianapolis. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday.--waw
