Mrs. Merle G. Becklehimer, 62, Rt. 6, Crawfordsville, died at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday in Culver Hospital. She had been in failing health two months. Born April 8, 1908, at Crawfordsville, she was a daughter of Ollie and Nancy Stephens Caldwell. She was married in April of 1947 to John Becklehimer. He died in 1957. Mrs. Becklehimer was employed by the old Crawfordsville Casket Co. and Kroger Grocery before her marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Becklehimer operated a farm west of New Market during their marriage. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. James E. Smith with whom she had made her home the past 12 years; a brother, Carl Caldwell of Crawfordsville; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Vernis Budd of Waveland and Mrs. George Long of California, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home here with Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Interment will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday.--waw
