Brazil, Ind., May 23—Miss Vina Butt, the sweetheart of Scott Bell, the 16 year old boy who committed suicide Monday by hanging himself, gave testimony before Coroner Meishon yesterday which threw considerable light on the tragedy. She said that she and young Bell had planned to elope, the arrangement being that she was to remain in hiding in a cave near her home from Sunday night to Monday night, when he was to join her and they would go away to be married. She remained hidden until Monday noon, and then went home, when she learned that young Bell was dead. It is said that Bell committed suicide as the result of threats made by the girl’s family to have him arrested if he did not inform them of their daughter’s whereabouts. -s
