VEEDERSBURG – Ruth H. Benner, 78, of 504 N. Newlin St., died in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill., at 12:01 a.m. Thursday. She had been a patient there for two weeks. Born April 5, 1896 at Veedersburg, she was a daughter of Andrew J. and Mary French Berlin. She married Jess G. Benner who died in 1961. Survivors include a brother, Vernon Berlin, and a sister, Marie Francis Songer, both of Veedersburg, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Parham Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. The Rev. Glen Youngblood will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. – jlr
