Joseph Evans Billingsley, 75, died at 4:15 p.m. Saturday (Feb 12) in State Hospital for Chest Diseases of Rockville. He had been in failing health 3 months. Mr. Billingsley, a retired employee of Allison Division General Motors at Indianapolis spent most of his life in the Crawfordsville area. He was a member of the Christian Church at Summer shade, Ky and was educated in Monroe County, Ky. Born May 13, 1890, in Monroe County he was a son of Jesse and Martha Walker Billingsley. He was married in 1912 to Ova Taylor. She died in 1947. Surviving are 5 sons, Laynos and Earl of Lafayette and Ray, Roy and Fred of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Beach of Crawfordsville; a brother, James of Crawfordsville; 17 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The body was brought to Hunt & Son Funeral Homewhere friends may pay their respects after 1 p.m. Monday. The body will be taken to the Christian Church at Summer Shade Tuesday morning. Funeral services will be conducted there at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in Summer Shade Cemetery. - kbz
