DARLINGTON – Charles W. Binford, 70, of Rt. 1, Darlington, died Tuesday morning in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville after a short illness. He had been a trustee of Union Township for eight years, had farmed and had driven a school bus for the North Montgomery School Corp. Mr. Binford was a member of Youngs Chapel Christian Church and past master of Darlington Masonic Lodge. He attended schools in the Darlington area. Born April 24, 1904, in Montgomery County, he was a son of Clyde and Cora Long Binford. He was married to Zola Conrad at Ladoga on Sept. 24, 1924. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Larry of Darlington; a daughter, Mrs. Robert R. (Betty) Anderson of Darlington; three sisters, Mrs. Ollie Crull and Mrs. Nelda Carpenter of Darlington and Mrs. Dorothy Armstrong of Terre Haute; a brother, Bernard Binford of Crawfordsville; a foster brother, Glen Conrad; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters and a grandson. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Burkhart Funeral Home’s Darlington Chapel, with the Rev. Ron Batts officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery at Darlington. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday. Masonic rites will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday. – jlr
