Roxie M. Binns, 91, of 3531 Greenbush St., Lafayette, a native of Montgomery County, died at 8:10 a.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette. She had been ill six months and hospitalized three weeks. Mrs. Binns retired in 1957 as a cook for Loeb's Tea Room. She was a member of New Richmond United Methodist Church and Hope Chapter 5 Order of Eastern Star. She had lived at Lafayette for 40 years. Prior to that she lived at New Richmond. Born Sept. 17, 1895, she was a daughter of Chockley and Dona A. Mitchell Applegate. Surviving are a son, Daniel of Lake Holiday; four sisters, Nellie Quinn of Lowell, Mae Jackson of Monticello, Rae Simmons of Linden and Mildred Fruits of Alamo; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Helms Funeral Home at Linden with the Rev. Hugh Dooley officiating. Burial will be in New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. today. – jlr
