Marion W. Black, 74, died at Culver Hospital at 11:26 p.m. Wednesday following an extended illness. He resided at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William W. White, 606 E. Chestnut St. Born Dec. 8, 1890, in Richland County, Ill., he was the son of Grant and Jane Black. He was married Nov. 15, 1930, in Springfield, Ill., to Goldie Marie Williams. She preceded him in death on Aug. 15, 1961. Black, an auto mechanic, came here as a young man, but later moved back to Illinois for several years. He returned here in 1955 when he retired and had made his home in this city since then. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Noble, Ill., and of the Masonic Lodge in Illinois. Survivors include the daughter; three grandchildren, Stephen, Daniel and Debra White; a brother, James L. Black of Olney, Ill., and a sister, Mrs. Harry Bokenkamp of Clay City, Ill. Two brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. (CST) Saturday at the Summers-Rainey Funeral Home in Olney. Burial will be in the Noble Cemetery.
