ROMNEY – Louise Blacker, 62, of Rt. 1, Romney, at one time associated with the ASC office, died in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette at 6:40 p.m. Monday after a three-day illness. Mrs. Blacker had been a resident of the Romney and Clarks Hill communities most of her life. She was a member of the Clarks Hill Methodist Church and the Farm Bureau. She was born in Montgomery County on Sept. 14, 1911, a daughter of Isaac and Mary Booher Rowen. She married Frank Blacker in February of 1930. He survives. Also surviving are three sons, Robert Lee of Colfax, and Wayne Leo and Larry Ray, both of Clarks Hill; a daughter, Mrs. Marietta Derhanmer of Danbury, Conn.; five sisters, Mrs. June Bailey of Frankfort, Mrs. Eva Stevens of Colfax, Mrs. Merle Stevens of Colfax, Mrs. Elta Smith of Clarks Hill and Mrs. Hester Marks of Clarks Hill, and 16 grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Goodwin Funeral Home at Frankfort with the Rev. Dale Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. – jlr
