Waynetown == James W. Blackford, prominent Waynetown resident passed away at his home here this morning after a brief illness. Death was caused by a stroke of apoplexy which he sustained Tuesday and occurred at 7:15. Mrs. (sic - Mr.) Blackford was born Aug 28, 1851, near Waynetown the son of Nathaniel and Katherine Brant Blackford. He was united in marriage to Joan Underwood Oct 3, 1872. The deceased was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church and Knights of Pythias Lodge. Following his marriage he established his resident on a farm west of her elater living on a farm north of Waynetown 16 years ago he moved to Waynetown and had been a resident of this place ever since. Those surviving are the wife, two sons, Walter of Waynetown and Gaylen of Crawfordsville, a daughter, Mrs. Clyde Jones of Indianapolis, 5 grandchildren one great grandchild. The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Waynetown Baptist church with Rev. IC Overman officiating. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
