Waynetown Feb 11-- Mrs. Joan Blackford, 84, resident of Waynetown for the past 15 years, died at 12 o'clock noon today at her home here. Although the immediate cause of her death was pneumonia, she had never recovered from a fall 3 years ago in which she fractured her hip. Born in Fountain County, Nov 7, 1848 Mrs. Blackford was the daughter of Hiram and Louisa Kemp Underwood. She was married Oct 3, 1872 to James Blackford who died Sept 27 1933. The deceased was a member of the Baptist Church for 60 years. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Clyde Jones, Indianapolis, two sons, Watler near Waynetown and Galen of Crawfordsville; 5 grandchildren, including Miss Evelyn Blackford, a teacher in the Crawfordsville schools and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at Waynetown Bapitst Church in charge of Rev. IC Overman burial in Masonic Cemetery here. -- kbz
