EFFIE MOORE BLANKENSHIP

Effie C. Blankenship, 88, of 804 E. College St., a charter member of the Christian Union Church, died Thursday afternoon in Culver Hospital. She was born in Tippecanoe County on March 9, 1888, a daughter of Nathaniel and Minnie Smith Moore. She married Elza "Mack" Blankenship on Dec. 19, 1909. He died Dec. 1, 1958. Surviving are a daughter, Lois Patton of Crawfordsville; a son, Warner C. of Lafayette; two half-sisters, Mary Schenck of Waynetown and Jo Buettner of California; a half-brother, Arthur Moore of Crawfordsville; five grandchildren, Jim Kalweit, Sharon Booher and Chris Remley of Crawfordsville and Kirby and Brian Blankenship of Lafayette; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Ernest Hayden officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. - jlr
