Bergia E. Blanton, 89, of 1203 Lane Ave., died Wednesday in Culver Hospital. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She had lived on a farm near Crawfordsville before moving to town. Mrs. Blanton was born near Darlington on Feb. 24, 1887, a daughter of Abraham Lincoln and Hanna Shumaker Cook. She married Merrill Blanton who preceded her in death. Surviving are a son, Woodrow of Indianapolis; three daughters, Ernestine Mock of Indianapolis, Pauline Toole of Sun City, Ariz., and Louise Kelso of Crawfordsville; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Miller officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday. - jlr
