Waynetown - Mrs. Elizabeth Bible, prominent Waynetown woman who had spent her entire married life here died suddenly from a heart attack suffered at her home at 1:30 a.m. Monday.  Mrs. Bible was 66 years of age.

Born in Montgomery County April 23, 1886, Mrs. Bible was the daughter of Thomas Clinton and Annie Shanklin Thompson.  As a girl she attended Crawfordsville HS from which she graduated. She also attended Indiana University and for several years she taught school in Waynetown.  

Mrs. Bible was married Aug 30, 1908 to Robert D. Bible. She was a member of the Waynetown Methodist Church. She also was a charter member and a past worthy matron of the Waynetown Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a past deputy of District Five of the Eastern Star order and also had been a member of a grand chapter committee.  Mrs. Bible also was a past grand chief in Pythian Sisters.

Active also in the affairs of the town, Mrs. Bible had served as town clerk for many years. She and her husband operated the Wayne Hotel here for 28 years. Mr. Bible died Jan 19, 1951. Mrs. Bible is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Vivan Venis and a granddaughter, Marilee Watson. She and her daughter, her granddaughter and her son-in-law resided together in Waynetown.

Other survivors include her two sisters, Mrs. Helen Miller of Franklin and Mrs. Gertrude Robbins of Brook and two brothers, J. Walter Thompson of Crawfordsville and Frank Thompson of Indianapolis. Several nephews and nieces also survive, one of whom Ralph Thompson of Indianapolis lived for many years in her home.

Mrs. Bible's parents, her husband and one brother, Clarence Thompson preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Methodist Church in Waynetown at 2 p.m. Wednesday in charge of Rev. Guy E. Tremaine, assisted by Rev. H. L. McBride.  Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.

The body will remain at the Grenard and Servies Funeral Home where friends may call until noon Wednesday.  The body will then lie in state at the church for one hour before the funeral. - kbz
