Crawfordsville, Ind Nov 5 – Mrs. Pearl Kline Blackford, age 58, wife of Gahlen H. Blackford, cashier of the Ben Hur Life Association died at her home Thursday night after a long illness of heart disease. Mrs. Blackford, born at Waynetown, was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church and Crawfordsville Country club. She was prominent in social affairs and was a leading woman golfer for a number of years. Other survivors are her mother, Mrs. Florence M. Kline of Waynetown; two brothers, William D. Kline of Crawfordsville and John B. Kline of Waynetown and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Rosen, also of Waynetown.

Mrs. Pearl  Kline Blackford, 58 years old, wife of Gaylen H. Blackford, Ben Hur Life Association cashier, died Thursday night at 8:40 o’clock at her home, 910 West Main Street. She had been in failing health several years and seriously ill 8 weeks with heart disease. Born Jan 19, 1885, near Waynetown, the daughter of Rice L. and Florence M. Thompson Kline, she was married Jan 19, 1910 in Crawfordsville to Gaylen H. Blackford. She was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church. A resident of Crawfordsville most of her life, Mrs. Blackford was active in social and civic affairs here until her health failed. For several years she was identified prominently with the Crawfordsville Country club and was one of its leading women golfers. Surviving are: the husband, the mother, who lives at Waynetown, two brothers, WD Kline of Ben Hur Life Association, and John B. Kline of Waynetown, a sister, Mrs. Ruth Rosen also of Waynetown and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon in the Grenard & Servies FH at Waynetown with Rev. Gary Albritten pastor of the Waynetown Baptist Church in charge. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. The body will remain continuously at the funeral home until conclusion of the services.
