Carl Bond, 53, a resident of Crawfordsville most of his life, died Thursday night about midnight from injuries suffered in an accident at his Northridge, Calif., home, Feb. 17. Mr. Bond was injured fatally when he was struck by a truck while taking pictures in front of his home. He died in a California hospital where he had been in a critical condition since the mishap. Mr. and Mrs. James A. Bell, parents of Mrs. Bond, witnessed the accident. They had gone there earlier in the winter to visit their daughter and son-in-law. Mrs. Bond was the former Margie Bell. Mr. Bond had been with the Lockheed Aircraft Corp., since moving to California. He was with the Alberschardt furniture store here for a number of years. The family home in Crawfordsville was in the 100 block of South Walnut Street. Funeral services and burial will be at Northridge.

Carl W. Bond, 53, of Northridge, Calif., a former resident of Crawfordsville, was injured seriously Feb. 17 when he was hit by a truck at Northridge, it was learned here Tuesday. The mishap occurred while he was taking pictures in front of his home, according to word received here by relatives. He was reported to have suffered a brain concussion, several fractured ribs, internal wounds and other injuries. His wife, the former Miss Margie Bell, is a sister of Estel Bell. Both Mr. and Mrs. Bond have many friends in this city. The family home in Crawfordsville was in the 100 block of South Walnut Street. Mr. Bond was employed at the Alberschardt furniture store. At present he is an employee of Lockheed Aircraft Corp. Despite the extent of his injuries he is reported slightly improved at a California hospital.
