Veedersburg -- Balsor Isley "Boss" Booe, 88, of Veedersburg, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. He was self-employed and attended the Veedersburg school system. He was a member of Sterling Christian Church and had been a life resident of Veedersburg area. Born Aug 25, 1883, in Fountain County, he was a son of Solomon Islie Booe and Hannah Taylor. He was married June 27, 1903 to Effie Mae Alston at Chambersburg. She died Jan 24, 1953. Survivors include two sons, Orville Booe of Hillsboro and Walter Eugene Booe of Peoria, Ill; three daughters, Mrs. Hazel Hay of Danville, Ill, Mrs. Dorothy Rasmussen of Williams Bay, Wisc and Mrs. Betty Reynolds of Attica; 28 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren ; 3 great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fishero Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial will be in Coal Springs Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. - kbz
