Veedersburg - Mrs. Ella Booe, 80, died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday in Cardinal Nursing Home at South Bend. Mrs. Booe, a life-long resident of this community, had been spending the winter with a daughter, Mrs. Melba Edwards, of South Bend when she became seriously ill. She was born Sept. 5, 1882 at Veedersburg, a daughter of Harry and Priscilla Dawson Mettee. She married Ed Booe of Veedersburg Dec. 7, 1898. He died April 1, 1957. Survivors include the daughter at South Bend and two sons, Robert of Danville, Ill. and Joseph of Benton Harbor, Mich. She was preceded in death by three sons and two daughters. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fishero Funeral Home here. Interment will be in Rockfield Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday.

Veedersburg- Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Booe, 82, were held at the Fishero Funeral Home with Rev. Conley Rowland in charge. Serving as pallbearers and assisting with the floral tributes were Bob Barker, Wayne Furr, Leslie Booe, Donald Furr, John Coffey and Robert Furr. Requested organ selections played by Mrs. Gretchen Minnick included “Going Down the Valley,” “Beyond the Sunset” and “In the Sweet Bye and By.” Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery.
