Lee M. Booe, 79, a native and for many years a druggist in this community, died Friday evening at the Ben Hur Home. He was a descendant of pioneer professional people here and co-owner of Nye-Booe Drug Store. Born Jan. 1, 1888, he was a son of John Austin and Eva May Booe. He was married in September of 1929 to Eliss Smith, who died May 11, 1952. Mr. Booe was a 1906 graduate of Crawfordsville High School and in 1910 was graduated from Wabash College. He worked for a time in Seattle, Wash., served in the army in World War I, and after the war returned to Crawfordsville and became a partner in the Nye-Booe drug firm. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Rotary Club and American Legion. While in Wabash he was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Survivors include a stepson, Robert A. Smith, who operates the drug store; a step-granddaughter, Marilee Smith, and a niece, Mrs. John Bushong. A brother, John A. Booe, Jr., preceded him in death. Funeral services are announced for Bright Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Monday with Revs. Howard F. Miller and Paul E. Million officiating. Interment will be Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. - kbz
