Darlington - Mrs. Nell E. Booher, 78 of 421 S. Phillips St, Kokomo former Darlington resident died at 7:45 p.m. Friday April 9 in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital there following an illness of six days. She was born near Darlington Indiana on Feb 14, 1887, daughter of Albert K. and Maude Martin Peterson. She was graduated from Darlington HS in 1905. She married Owen M. Booher April 6, 1909. Mr. Booher formerly was alumni secretary at Purdue and was later secretary of the Chamber of Commerce in Kokomo. He died Jan 24. Mrs. Booher lived in Kokomo all her married life except for a resident in West Lafayette from 1929-1939. She was a member of the Main Street Christian Church. Surviving are a son, Ned P. Booher, of Kokomo; two sisters, Mrs. Orval (Bess) Simpson of Lapal, Ind and Mrs. Homer (Ethel) Hayes of Indianapolis. Another sister, Mrs. Bert (Hattie) Hughes of Crawfordsville preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Monday at Ellers Chapel with Rev. Earl Seitz officiating. Burial was made in Sunset Memory Gardens. - kbz
