Darlington - George M. BOONE, 70 of the Darlington area died in his home at
5:55 p.m. Saturday. He had been employed as a feed salesman for Moorman
Feed Co. and later worked in Binford's Garage at Darlington. He served as
pastor for Byron Christian Church and Center Christian Church, Elmdale. he
was a member of Darlington Christian Church and international Order of Odd
Fellows at Ladoga. He was a 1934 graduate of Ladoga HS. Mr. Boone was born
at Mount Sterling, Ky Sept 4, 1915 to William Amos and Lena Rivers Botts
Boone. He was married at Greenfield in 1934 to Bertha Peffely. (sic). She
preceded him in death in Feb. 1961. He was married at Crawfordsville in 1975
to Leona Porter. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, G. Daniel
of Indianapolis and Bill of Veedersburg; 3 stepdaughters: Mrs. Harold
(Virginia) Rose of Dover; Mrs. John (Donna) Lytle of Darlington and Mrs.
Margery Bennett of Romney, his stepmother, Mrs. Mary Boone of Crawfordsville,
12 grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A
brother and sister preceded him in death. The funeral is scheduled for
10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Darlington Christian Church with the Rev. Michael
Little officiating. Burial in Stoner Cemetery, east of Ladoga. Friends may
call 4-9 p.m. today in the Burkhart Funeral Home, Darlington Chapel.
