Waynetown - Mrs. Mildred Bowlus, 62 died at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday at her home after an illness of 3 months. Mrs. Bowlus was born in New Richmond Sept 18, 1903, a daughter of Everett and Nettie Vaughn Burris. She married Clyde Bowlus at Hammond Dec 1, 1924. He is town marshall here. A member of the Waynetown Methodist Church, she formerly belonged to Psi Iota Xi Sorority. Educated in New Richmond, Syracuse, NY and Danville, Ill, Mrs. Bowlus moved to Crawfordsville in 1936 and resided there until 16 years ago when she moved here. Surviving besides the husband are two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Bennett of Seymour and Mrs. Mary Ettling of Elgin, Ill and 7 grandchildren, kathleen, Eddie, Mary D, Vaughn and Dawn Bennett and David and Barbara Ettling. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Servies Funeral Home with Revs. GE Tremaine and Raymond Rhoda officiating. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may pay respects at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today. - kbz
