Mrs. Hazel L. Boyland, 82, a native of Montgomery County, died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in her home at 403 S. Ninth St., Lafayette. She had been in ill health for several months. She was a graduate of Crawfordsville Business College and was business office manager for Barnhill-Hornaday & Pickett at Crawfordsville before her marriage. She had lived at Lafayette for 18 years where her husband owned and operated Boyland Hospital Supply Co. Mrs. Boyland was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Born Oct. 15, 1892, she was a daughter of Candy and Fannie Titus Lewellen. She married Dr. Howard L. Boyland in 1914. He survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Catherine) Howell and Mrs. Emil (Barbara) Shadrick of Chicago and Phyllis and Rosemary Boyland of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Toby of Crawfordsville; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Zahn-Schneider Funeral Home at Lafayette with the Rev. Robert G. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
