William "Bill" Bogart Jr. of Crawfordsville died Tuesday afternoon in Franciscan St. Elizabeth Central at Lafayette. He was 62. Mr. Bogart was a 1967 graduate of Danville (Ill.) High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a radio intercept operator, stationed primarily in Thailand. He was discharged as a sergeant. Later, he organized a reunion of his unit. He worked for Kroger in Danville, at Inland Container, for Ben Hur Home was a transport and maintenance person and then was a CNA, later working for Hickory Creek as a cook. He was a HAM radio operator and fixed tube-type radios. He also played in the Black Creek Band. He was born Feb. 16, 1949, at Danville, Ill., to William R. Bogart and Delena Hill Bogart Mullins. He married Brenda Garfield on Aug. 6, 1971, at Danville. She survives. Other survivors include: daughter Tracy (Tony) Hooley of Crawfordsville; son James (Suzie) Bogart of Cleveland, Ohio; step-father Gordon Mullins of Danville; sister Sharon Little of Shenzhen, Chinal; half-sisters, Jennifer (Shawn) Cole of Washington and Christine Bogart; mother-in-law Ernestine Chrisman of Crawfordsville; brother-in-law Mark (Melinda) Garfield of Oakwood, Ill.; and six grandchildren. His parents are deceased. Funeral services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday at Burkhart Funeral Home, with Pastor Dan Matthews officiating. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
