Veedersburg-- Miss Lois Zelma Boggs, 68, died at 1 p.m. Monday at her home here after an extended illness. Miss Boggs, a life-long resident of this community, was born here Nov. 24, 1895, a daughter of Ira and Susanna Fine Boggs. She attended school here and was a graduate of Veedersburg High School. She attended Indiana Teachers College and Indiana State College. Miss Boggs taught school for 32 years in Van Buren Township and Veedersburg grade schools. She also was employed by Wabash Brick Co. as payroll clerk and Veedersburg News as bookkeeper and was co-owner of Sycamore Dairy Bar. She was a member of the First Christian Church and OES here. Also a member of American Legion Auxiliary here, she was a past president of the organization. Surviving are four sisters, Miss Elizabeth Boggs, with whom she made her home, Mrs. Maude Burgner, also of Veedersburg, Mrs. Gladys Furr of South Bend and Mrs. Kathryn Tanksley of Culver; two brothers, Paul D. Boggs of Sanford, Fla. And Arthur Boggs of Veedersubrg; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church here with Rev. James Dyson and Rev. August Stork officiating. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at Parham Funeral Home here Tuesday evening and Wednesday afternoon and evening. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services. The family request that memorials be made to the Heart Fund in lieu of flowers.
