Crawfordsville – Robert A. Bonwell, 80, a member of the city council here and Mont Co superintendent of roads of 8 years died Thursday evening at the home of a son, Earl J. Bonwell, 7 miles south of here. He had been ill several weeks. Born in Warren County, July 28, 1853 he was a son of James A. and Jane (Sayers) Bonwell and was married in 1882 to Linda Jane Malsbary who died last fall. Surviving are the son, a daughter, a half-sister, Mrs. Belle Miller of Boswell and a half-brother. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the son’s home. - kbz

Robert A. Bonwell, age 80, member of the Crawfordsville city council, died yesterday at the home of his son, Earl J. Bonwell south of here. He had been in failing health for some time. For eight years, Mr. Bonwell served as county superintendent of roads. He was a Republican. The son and a daughter survive. -kbz
