Bowen - Arthur

Source: Crawfordsville Review Dec 30, 1919

Arthur Bowen, 62 years of age, one of the best known of our older citizens died Sunday night following a stroke of paralysis at the age of 62 years (sic).  He has been in failing health for many months. Deceased was the son of Charles and Mary Bowen, pioneer resident of this community, the father at one time in its early career being the editor of the Review.  Both parents have long been deceased. Mrs. Clara Ledington of Nowata, Okla and one brother, Walter Bowen whose residence is unknown are the only survivors.  Arthur Bowen was a man respected by all who knew him for his kindly manner. He was a printer by trade. During his younger days he had much ability as an actor and had a number of important engagements with reputable companies but he abandoned this career to follow his trade. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at the Proffitt Undertaking parlors on South Washington Street. Burial will be at Oak Hill cemetery. - kbz
