Darlington July 8- Silas Bowers, 81, retired local business man, died at 9:30 o'clock last night at the family home in Crawfordsville after an illness of 8 weeks. Funeral services were set for Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery, Darlington. Mr. Bowers was born at Bowers Station Feb 27, 1852 a son of Abner and Elizabeth Bowers and on Nov 11, 1875 was married to Nancy E. Mote. He was a business man for a number of years at Bowers Station and Darlington. SUrviving are the widow and four children: Mrs. WIlliam Parker of Darlington, Mrs. Fleeta Gold of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Ira Lee, Wilmington, Del and Fred Bowers at home. - kbz
