NEW MARKET – Private memorial services for Mrs. Mabel May Bowler, a native of Crawfordsville, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Noble Reeves Funeral Home here. Following her death Sept. 13 in Cook County Hospital at Chicago, the body was cremated. The ashes will be buried Thursday in Weir Cemetery about five miles northwest of here. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Mrs. Bowler was born March 9, 1885, daughter of Francis and Emma Cary Butcher. She was twice married. She was first married March 29, 1903 at Crawfordsville to Frank Barnhart. In 1926 she was married to Andy Bowler. Surviving are a daughter, Bernice Beecher of Rt. 3, Crawfordsville; a son, Homer Barnhart of Las Vegas, Nev.; nine grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. – jlr
