Charles A. Bratton, an aged and well known Boone County resident, passed away at his home at Lebanon, Monday at 12:15. He was born in Virginia Feb 4, 1839. He was brought by his parents to Montgomery County when he was three years old. Mr. Bratton enlisted in the union army in the Civil War. He went to Boone County after the war and has resided in Boone for 53 years. He was a farmer by occupation. Mr. Bratton was married Feb 10, 1865. His wife, Agnes survives. Five children are living: Mort, Nora Hill and Ella Richardson of Indianapolis; Alonso of Advance and Glenn of near Thorntown. Three step children, Paul, Clendis and Dorothy, live near Plainfield. Deceased was a member of the Lebanon Presbyterian Church and GAR post. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. OV Rector of Advance officiating. Interment will be held at the Cox Cemetery northwest of Dover. - kbz
