Edison Wheat Bratton, 87, Rt. 1, Crawfordsville died at 2:10 p.m. Saturday at Carman Nursing Home here. He had been in failing health since 1929. Born Sept 29, 1882, in Montgomery County, he was a son of Charles M. and Lydia A. Loop Bratton. He was married Nov 25, 1903 to Fannie Mae Faust. They were married in Montgomery County. A retired farmer, he attended schools at Whitesville and Crawfordsville Business College. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He also was a member of Montgomery Masonic Lodge No. 50 of which he was a past master and past high priest. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Waneta White of Muncie and Mrs. LeRoy (Miriam) Layson of Rt. 5, Crawfordsville. He was preceded in death by his wife, who died Jan 14, 1943 and two brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Powers' Funeral Home here with Rev. John Servies officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday. Masonic rites will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
