Charles E. Britton, age 69, 709 Kentucky Street, died Tuesday morning at 9:15 o'clock (Crawfordsville) of a complication of ailments. He had been ill since the first of March. Mr. Britton was born June 10, 1872 in North Salem, Indiana the son of James K. and Minerva Davis Britton. He was a member of the Eagles, Red Men and Moose fraternal orders. Mr. Britton has been a resident of Crawfordsville since 1892. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Phronia Douglas Britton whom he married in Indianapolis Oct 15, 1912 and one sister, Mrs. Harry Clark of Waveland; one brother, William Britton of Detroit, Mi one nephew, Harry Britton of Madison, Indiana and one niece, Mrs. Ruth Grimes of Indianapolis. The body will lie in state at Proffit & Sons until the funeral services were held at Proffit Thursday afternoon at 3:30 with services in charge of Rev. John Servies. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. - kbz
