WAVELAND – Clyde Edward Brooks, 67, of Waveland, a World War II veteran, died at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Veterans Hospital at Indianapolis. He had been seriously ill three weeks. Mr. Brooks was born Dec. 22, 1907, at Licking, Mo., a son of Charles and Cora Whiting Brooks. Surviving are four sisters, Bertha Hillyer of Stone Bluff, Goldie Watson of Bainbridge, and Eulah Stockwell and Evalena Lively of Waveland. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Machledt & Servies Funeral Home with the Rev. John Van Vactor officiating. Burial will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Wednesday. – jlr
