Thorntown - Mrs. Rebecca Mae Brookshire, 83-year-old resident of Thorntown, died at 8 p.m. Saturday in the home of Robert Strahm, where she had been living. Mrs. Brookshire had been ill for several years. She was born in Thorntown on Jan 19, 1883 a daughter of James and Cynthia Lane Ball. She married Charles Brookshire who died in 1956. A practice nurse, Mrs. Brookshire was a member of the Thorntown Christian Church and the Poets' Corner at Indianapolis. There are no known survivors. Funeral services will be here at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. Floyd Morris officiating. Burial will be in Old Cemetery.
